First Friday
Just as the name suggests, this event is held on the first Friday of the month, except for July, August, and December. It is both a social and educational event. Held at Grace Heritage Center (GHC), doors open at 5:30 for a brief social with beverages and snacks. At 6:00pm, there is a 30 to 45 minute presentation by a PG member or guest speaker. Topics are ones of interest to PG, such as how to use Sanborn maps and other tools to research properties in Georgetown; the Chisholm Trail organization; who was George Washington Glascock, etc. This event is open to the public and PG members.
Second Saturday
PG opens GHC every second Saturday from 9am to 5pm. This is the same weekend Downtown Georgetown Association (DGA) holds Market Days. Main Street is closed between 7th and 9th Street, and 7th Street is closed between Main and Austin Avenue. We gets hundreds of visitors and the bell rings non-stop!
Friends Events
These are catered social events held twice a year for PG members who are at the Friends, Business, Partner, and Benefactor levels. They are held at a member’s home and are typically scheduled from 6pm to 8pm
